VE DAY 75

During the dark days of “covid,” with many restrictions in place, we could not hold a display to commemorate the 75th anniversary of VE Day – the end of hostilities in Europe, World War Two.  Therefore, we sought an alternative way to commemorate VE 75.  Over 20 days in May 2020, ER&DHS posted a number of WW2 related stories.  They are all contained in one of our Photobooks which is held in the Randolph Community Centre.  It is available to view at the Centre, by appointment.  We are in the Centre every Tuesday between 10.30 and 12.30.

The VE 75 stories are repeated here.  Please click on the topic below.

The 80th Anniversary of the end of WW2 will be with us in 2025 and next year, 2024, will be the 80th anniversary of D Day, the invasion of Normandy.  We will present a range of stories to commemorate these events nearer the time.  If you have anything to tell about your family and these momentous events, please get in touch.
