There have been a number of commercial enterprises running the coke ovens at Randolph Colliery.
There have been 3 different coke oven plants operating on the site over the period.

- 1895 – 1909: The original coke works was established by the North Bitchburn Coal Company Limited.
- 1909 – 1947: The second set of coke ovens, the Bye-Product Ovens were also developed by the NBCCL.
- 1948 – 1984: The third set of coke ovens was constructed under the ownership of Sadler & Co. (Coke Ovens) Ltd. There were various take overs. Generally, a subsidiary of a larger concern, the name of the Randolph Coke & Chemical Company Limited was carried by most.
